Pamela E. Witcher, as a signed musician began composing and performing musical pieces in 2008. Then, she connected with Dr. Jody Cripps, a Canadian Deaf Tenure Professor and Researcher at Clemson University in 2012.

Until today, Jody has been exploring, analyzing and researching Pamela’s pieces as well other Deaf musicians’ pieces. Here is the LINK to his works.

Together, Pamela and Jody have been developing a Signed Music curriculum. They will share the curriculum through their teachings at the Deaf Arts Academy, with a 2-years cohort. This will be the first Signed Music cohort in Canada, led by Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf.

Pamela has also developed papers for one of her courses with VCC’s PID program. HERE, you can read some of her analytical papers about signed music.
